In culmination and recognition of various philanthropic activities, social services and service to humanity at large over decades, Hon'ble President of India conferred Mr. P. S. Bedi the honor of Padma Shri. In addition, he was bestowed many National and International Awards. His constant endeavour to improve the administration and transparency in racing at Delhi has yielded numerous benefits to the racing fraternity across the country. He served Delhi Race Club for nearly five decades in various capacities including President and Chairman Emeritus. For his contribution in racing field, The Turf Authority of India honoured him with the coveted "Life Time Achievement Award".

Shri Prithpal Singh Bedi Ji, Padarnashri Awardee, in culmination and recognition of various philanthropic activities, social services and service to humanity at large over decades, the Honorable President of India conferred Shri P.S. Bedi ji, the honour of Padamshri. In addition, he was bestowed many National and International Awards.

He contributed untiringly to the development and building of the Chelmsford Club. The Chub and its Members remain indebted to his unflinching devotion and commitment. His guidance, mentoring and down to earth approach towards Club Management has drawn appreciation from one and all. His connect with the Members and the Staff is etched in our memories for posterity. Shri P.S. Bedi ji's departure remains a severe bereavement and irretrievable loss to the members of the Club and Society at large.

Late Shri PS Bedi ji dedicated his life to the welfare of Delhi Race Club, which is 98 yrs old institution and the only Racing Centre in Northern India. He was recipient of a number of National and International awards, including Padmashri Award given by the then president, Shri APJ Abdul Kalam; further for his dedicated services, the then Prime Minister Shri I K Gujral, inaugurated a hall in the name of Shri PS Bedi ji. He was also recipient of the Punjab Rattan Award, which was given by the first Lady of USA, Ms Hillary Clinton, to name a few.

His dedication and contributions to the Racing Industry is well known to all with few parallels. His constant endeavour His constant endeavour to improve and bring transparency at the Delhi Race Club has yielded numerous benefits to the Racing Fraternity. He served Delhi Race Club for nearly four decades in various capacities, including President and Chairman Emeritus. He was always in the forefront for various causes of the Racing Industry. He was responsible for arranging numerous meetings and also invited the Sports Minister, Shri Vijay Goel, at the Delhi Race Club along with all Chairmen of Race Clubs to interact with the Minister for recognition of Racing as a sport. His major contribution was in the case of Madras Race Club Vs State of Tamil Nadu and his interaction with Justice Shri Kuldeep Singh, who headed the three Judge Bench. He shared various inputs like Handicapping, Grading, Classification etc of various horses participating in the races. Late Shri PS Bedi ji, along with the present Chairman Shri J S Bedi assisted Justice Kuldeep Singh to give the Landmark Judgment of qualifying racing as a "Game of Skill" like other sports. Even otherwise, he has been assisting various Turf Clubs in matters of legal cases at the Supreme Court, matters of GST and Sports with various Ministries, Delhi being the Capital of India.

For his contributions in the racing field, the Turf Authorities of India honoured him with the coveted "Life Time Achievement Award" at the Invitation Cup held at Chennai on 05th March 2016. This award was recommended by Dr R Surender Reddy, Chairman, of Hyderabad Race Club, the doyen of the Racing Industry, along with Late Mr R Ramakrishnan, the then Chairman, Turf Authorities of India, at the Indian Turf Invitation Cup 2016, at Chennai.
